XSR was created originally to give artists a one-click solution to rendering. XSR is short for Extremely Simple Rendering, and that’s exactly what it does. Version 3.0 has under gone a complete rewrite of the code and is now much more integrated in MODO. While it maintains its functionality true to the original concept it is evolving quickly into an indispensable tool for any artist who can’t afford to waste time messing around with render settings.
The UI has been reworked along with the internal code to offer a streamlined solution to getting a final image out of MODO. The user can now control their render settings via two very simple sliders that control the overall quality of your image. You can use predefined presets for an even simpler one-click setup.
XSR 3.0 updates settings in realtime so that you can see what it’s doing under the hood and use it as a tool to learn from. It is also now an integrated plugin instead of just a set of script arguments that are fire and forget. What this means for MODO users is that future versions will be quicker to get out into your hands, and XSR 3.0 is ready to go for 801 with a number of updated settings for that build.
Version 3.0 is just the beginning there are many things coming in the near future!
